It wasn't what we were expecting based on what we read on here.
I think those are the kids who are just more likely to post on Instagram immediately. I’m on campus almost every day and there’s still a whole lot of quirk around. (And I don’t mean that in a bad way.)
PP: I thought that at first but when DD and I compared to the posts from last year it was a pretty big difference. Significant increase in posts from sporty/preppy/Greek-interested girls, very few posts from girls outside that umbrella. There are probably 5x as many people just who have mentioned rushing. Especially since we're only on early decision, why would the average person posting be so different from last year?
W&M has a range of students, from nerdy to preppy. The nerdy types may be less likely to post their bios on social media so that page likely attracts more of the outgoing students. You shouldn’t rely on Instagram to demonstrate the entire universe of college student body.

None of the accounts are officially affiliated with the university.

Not really sure why. She tried and struggled so much. I don’t know if she is what DCUM calls quirky, but she just isn’t teenager “cool.” I don’t know how else to describe her. My DC always said she was nice, but really annoying or “a know it all.” She is now president of her sorority at W&M and super happy. This is what people mean when they say quirky kids thrive there.

There are multiple accounts but williamandmary2030_ is the only active one.
Is that the real page? Many of the posts are from students who say they are 100% committed to another school. Or that they are majoring in a department W&M doesn't have, like nursing, criminal justice, or game design. The whole page looks very fake to me.

After a casual glance at that Instagram page, I’m not seeing what you’re seeing at all. Are you sure you weren’t looking at UVA commits?
