Just so you know, "women in the U.S. gained the legal right to open bank accounts, obtain credit cards, and secure loans without a male co-signer nationwide following the passage of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act in [b]1974". There are countries NOW where women are not allowed to own anything nor even show up in public without a male chaperone.
