Unsatisfactory is that would be, it’s the likely off-ramp here. The Dems need to ensure that Miller and Vought are replaced. Noem and Hegseth and Bondi need to offer their resignations or be impeached. Bessant needs to be investigated about where all the money has gone.

Medical emergencies, first and foremost. Of the president is not physically able to execute the duties of President a majority of the cabinet can use the 25th Amendment

You could make a legal case that mentally ill presidents falls under that but it's a stretch.

There is no precedent for using the 25th Amendment for a President that is severely mentally ill. It would face intense legal scrutiny

Impeachment would be quicker and easier. For a permanent application of the 25th amendment you need 2/3s of each the house and the senate. Impeachment and removal requires only a majority in the house and 2/3s in the senate

I do believe enough of these spineless Republican senators will finally hit their limit and will vote for impeachment if Trump issues that order. It takes 67 to remove Trump from power. Very doable under these circumstances.

But we should never be in these circumstances to begin. We have a Mad King in the White House. This is a complete failure of our political system.
