Point well taken. Unfortunately, DC is not a state and nobody will push to get rid of the income limit. Precisely why folks choose to live in MD or VA. In state tuition regardless of income.

It's possible to applaud it (first increase in 25 years) AND keep pushing for more in the next negotiations. Especially with a new mayor and Delegate next year.

No. The income limits are pretty bogus considering that DC invests basically zero in higher education compared to states with similar budgets, yet we pay the same amount of taxes …

Interesting that the income limits have come down. Families used to be eligible with 1M incomes now cut off almost half of that.

Do state school have tuition tied to income limits as well?

18-year old moved to VA alone. He is about the get in-state tuition at NVCC and then will transfer to GM.
He got his DL in VA, has a rental lease, is working, and I think he signed up to vote. His health insurance is from VA HI market.

Do you have a link? From what I can see the version that passed had $40 million for DC tag but did not mention anything about increasing limits like the house one did above but maybe I am looking at the wrong version.

Yep. To put this in perspective, I benefited greatly from this when attending a state school 2002-6. I now have a 5th grader, and this is the first time the amount has increased. It's better than nothing, but it should be a lot higher already.
