Jack had to be the most pathetic, bumbling detective ever. Carrying Rachel’s phone around, using his niece’s DNA, constantly shutting anyone down who had a theory, cutting his sister off at the station as she was trying to tell him what happened - it was just absurd.

I agree, completely predictable and just plain silly.

Completely agree! This was absolutely awful. Especially the last episode.

OK, I just binged it, and I was wondering if I am the only one who didn’t like the ending, which was completely ridiculous and nonsensical.

Otherwise, it’s fine. It’ll do in a pinch. The ending really dropped the ball, though.

Just finished it and wish I’d read the negative reviews here beforehand. What a waste of time. The show feels low-quality, with Hallmark-style acting and a complete lack of intellectual or emotional depth.

Wow I also missed her hearing about the dead body while at the dentist.

Ok, I just rewatched the beginning of episode 1 and saw the dentist scene. Phew! Glad to have cleared that up.

SPOILERS below:

1. Why did the detective not get arrested? He broke so many laws. Tampering with evidence, assault etc. WTH.

2. No need for the double twist. It was so disjointed ending the show and then having a whole new twist to consider. Waste of time.

3. Agree that the beginning episode with the messy apt. and tooth had no tie-in with the rest of the show.

4. OMG how disturbing was the main secret from the past! So dark.

Spoiler alert

It does tie in and tells a little more of the story. I. The first scene, she’s coming back to her apartment after seeing her husband with Rachel. It’s clear she’s been super depressed and neglecting herself and her space. But when she comes back after seeing her husband, she’s resolved. She is mad as heck and she realizes she needs to get back to work and look good again and be ambitious again. Then she hears about the dead body while she’s in the dentist’s chair and she decides she wants to go there so she can see her husband.

Wow, I don't remember that scene at all!

They aren’t related but I suppose they could pass as sisters/cousins.

Minority opinion

No, I agree with PP. I had to turn it off. There is nothing I hate more than actors clearly born in the north, cosplaying southerners badly. I read the book which was set in an English village. Trying to make Atlanta a “third character” and doing it terribly was a poor choice for the movie adaptation.

Anna said they were in on it together and he attacked her.
