a girl on my kid's dorm at Yale had a Jane Street internship last summer. Major was philosophy. No double major. No nepo
It amazes me how DCUM posters just want to outright lie about anything and everything. There were 7 Yale interns at Jane Street last summer and ALL of them were STEM majors.

So yeah, can confirm that OP is correct.
Quants at Jane Street and similar places earn typically 1 to 6 million per year many without advanced degrees. Selection is extremely competitive. While IBs such as GS would have around .6-.7% acceptance rate for their selections, Jane Street and similar places would be around .1 or less much more selective than Harvard which has around 4% acceptance rate..

Caltech, Princeton, Berkeley, MIT, CMU, Harvard.

That list includes grad school so not a true UG list.
That's not true. Show where it states that. Also, anyways, news flash, grad school is relevant to the stature of the undergrad program and the overall job network.

If they care about money they wouldn’t be in government.
DP but it’s quite the opposite. Power in government can get you very rich. Look at the presidents, senators and congressmen. You’re an idiot if you don’t see this.
Presidents, senators and congressmen get rich and then run for office. Look at the ages of the people in those seats.
Some do but most are the opposite. Look at Clinton, Obama, Pelosi etc.

The top 20-30 schools all feed…you have to pass the math and other interview challenges so it’s a bit more meritocratic.
I think everyone is too obsessed with quant vs other non-quant hedge fund positions. Quant is a very small group, while Citadel, Point 72 and other hire many more for portfolio management and other non-quant positions.
For those jobs, the top schools have outsized representation, especially Wharton and Harvard.
