What topics are worthy of discussion here?
They usually don’t involve murders of random people hundreds of miles away. They tend to be DC-related or topical per threads.

Very traumatic for the 4 year old.
Yes. And for the folks that went to check on them - it sounds like the dentist who Spencer worked for called 911 while other co-workers went to the house. They called 911 twice - once to say they heard the kids and then once to say there was a body. Just awful.
The sad thing is that the cop who went for the initial welfare check, rang the doorbell and walked away. He should have heard the children, he should have peeked in the windows. Thank goodness for those co-workers but how traumatizing. The lazy officer should have done his job.
The police do welfare checks every day, multiple checks. They do look in windows and walk around the house assumimg there is no fence. Maybe the children were quiet when he went and the bodies were upstairs..
Can’t just go busting down doors. People get pissed.
Isn’t a welfare check to make sure they are alive /safe?
How would no answer indicate they are fine?
There is a limit to what they can do without permission of a home owner or reasonable suspicion. What if your boss called in a welfare check when you were an hour late to work and the police broke down your door when you didn’t answer, and you were just over at your boyfriends house playing hooky?

The wife was very very pretty. That’s enough to get my attention.

I’m leaning towards the ex-husband.
Prior to meeting her dentist husband, she worked in early childhood education. Women with her background typically are not divorcing surgeons, especially before having any children. The route of early childhood education to marrying a surgeon is a one-way golden ticket to being a wealthy stay at home mom.
There’s something weird happening with that previous divorce. And I bet the records are all sealed.
