I would Ed either usc or wake. Wake would be a good Ed he would probably get into.

Our school's naviance says otherwise re: UVA. Like I said in my original post, the highest GPA possible at our school is in the 4.4 range (and that's upon graduation, not when you apply) because we don't offer a lot of AP classes.
Still, 1490 is what percentile SAT for UVA?

Yes, and it's a total crap shoot with regards to who gets a shot and as finance gets increasingly popular each year, the traditional STEM types (i.e the grinders, super smart kids) are applying for and getting the business spots. So the finance bros (smart but not your academic outliers) are getting cut out and are stuck being econ majors in A&S.
Nothing wrong with this but don't count on a business spot. I have a few UVA kids and have watched/am watching this happen.

Pitt tracks interest, specifically visits/tours. If you can work in an official tour, AND your son applies in August (do not let this slide), then it’s a safety for him.
If he gets a quick response and likes the school, he can then cull his list of schools he doesn’t like as much.
My daughter loved her tour and got in Sept 10 of her senior year - her list shrunk quite a bit after that!

The business program at PSU is a much harder admit than other programs.
