It's tough out there, and I keep telling him it's a numbers game- just keep sending out resumes. DC has two internships back to back in the summer, both in Chicago. We are from the DC area, and DC goes to college no where near Chicago.
Last year they had an internship in the south, also no where near their college.
These internships either gave DC a stipend for airfare and housing or are offering free housing (in a very nice apartment).
