Pray tell, where are the players getting training and game time if not at a club?
Or did you mean your coach doesn't like players from a specific club? Please to tell us which club you think he doesn't like?

Honestly I think its sketchy for this not to be advertised or shared with the students. VHSL rules do not let coaches gatekeep green days, they are supposed to be open to any interested student.
If you are talking about boys and the coach is the same as last year, he’s a really good guy. Know him from outside of soccer and am impressed with what he was able to do with the team last year and just overall how he conducts himself.

The coach at our school hates club players. Also injuries are highly likely since it is such a range of skill- it ends of being an aggressive game of long ball.

A 9th grader wouldn't necessarily know to ask about secret off season workouts. Most will probably show up the first day of tryouts, completely unaware that kids they are competing with for limited spots have been secretly practicing with the coach for months.

girls teams will be varsity - high level travel players, jv - rec and low level travel - grade won't matter as much as girls are mostly fully grown at 14 so age is less of an issue. many rec and low level travel girls won't ever make varsity especailly at the better high schools (oakton, yorktown, indy, dominion, champe, etc)
yep, that's the exception though.
