75 according to Goodreads, but I didn’t include any professional reading or books I read to my nephews.

Thinking a lot of people are counting their audio books...

66 audiobooks and one book on paper.
First audiobook was Anni Bot.
Last audiobook was Double Shot (book 12 of 17 in a cozy mystery series about a caterer in Colorado).
The one book on paper that I read was called First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen.

I imagine a lot of people, myself included, count them as a way to keep track of what they’ve read over the years. I keep a yearly list in my notes app - title, author, date finished.

Are you officially on the spectrum, because counting / listing is a trait. I do list things a lot, but I don't count.

NP and I never listed or counted my books until I realized I was accidentally re-reading books not because I wanted to but because I lost track of what I’d actually read. Reading on a Kindle made it worse because for me it’s harder to remember titles and authors if I don’t see a physical book all the time while I’m reading it.

Once I started writing books down, I got curious about my pace. And then it became a habit and I couldn’t stop.

I read about a woman in her 80s or 90s who’s kept track of everything she’s read since maybe elementary school and I regret that my habit didn’t start far earlier in my life. It’s fun to see streaks and jags and trends, like my Orthodox Jewish romance phase or my tennis novel phase.

I would like to be friends and hear about both the Orthodox Jewish romance phase and the tennis novel phase. I read a tennis novel not long ago, actually, any you particularly recommend from that sub genre?

I’m at 270 and will probably finish one tomorrow.

We have an empty nest and I stopped watching TV this year (except for 15 minutes of news and one streaming show). Libby and the Fairfax Library saved me a lot of money this year!

First book: The Silversmith’s Puzzle by Nev March
Last Book: A Grave Matter by Anna Lee Huber (probably)

I obviously really love historical fiction.

I don't think I'll finish anything before the weekend so my total for the year is 108.

The first book I read was The Mercy Chair by M.W. Craven. If you're a fan of crime fiction you need to read Craven's Washington Poe series. The first one is called The Puppet Show.

The last book was This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan. I didn't like it as much as the other books in the series, but it was enjoyable.

First: Listen for the Lie (I rarely read books like this and hated it)
Last: Reading The Bright Years now... hope to finish by tomorrow... if not, true last one was Heart the Lover- I NEVER cry reading a book and I got choked up in this one. Love all her books.

It isn't DCUM if there isn't an inexplicable diagnosis of autism on the thread ...

Lots of people count the books they have read, PP.

I think 18? Part of why the number is low is that I started 2025 re-reading The Mists of Avalon, and it is a long book that took several months to read. Goal for this year is 40.

So, yeah, like I said the first book of the year was The Mists of Avalon, and I'm closing out 2025 with The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny.

42, was aiming for 52 but my brain is tired.

Don’t recall the first but it may have been a Harlan Coben because I was struggling and needed something to grab me.

Hoping to start The Correspondent or Theo of Golden today and finish tomorrow before we go out for NYE.

1) The Last Murder at the End of the World
33) The Lost Bookshop

It’s possible I might get through another in the next few days (I have 3 sitting on my coffee table from the library that all look like quick reads).
