Lol. Every kid I grew up with was disciplined like this. We are all normal, law abiding adults. Nothing wrong with establishing the pecking order early on. It’s when kids are allowed to do whatever that we have problems.

This. I’m a teacher and parents either don’t want to bother with discipline or they ask me what they should do when their kid does x,y,z. That’s how nearly every parent teacher conference goes these days.

Agreed. The Kelce family is just a typical reality show family -- low class, money and fame hungry, but with no real skill as entertainers. The two sons play football for entertainment but they aren't showmen. They really lucked into this situation with TSwift. But the Kelces themselves are like Midwestern Kardashians, nothing more. I find them mildly embarrassing at all times.

read an article the other day where they were complaining about the attention and not being able to raise their kids normally/ be a normal family. Seems like they could easily step out of the media's attention and no one would notice

SAME. My third grader is so well behaved I routinely get compliments about it. I don’t use abuse as discipline either.

Matt Damon was on a talk show and the host asked him to do the Boston accent. He told him he couldn’t really do the accent without swearing.

It’s part of adult language in Boston. The little kids don’t really swear for the most part. It starts around middle school. It’s not the worst thing in the world. In that example it’s actually more upsetting for a child to call their mother fat.

Exactly! The kids swear because the parents do it, and then the parents react with abuse. It's so dysfunctional.

The people on here calling kids "brats" or disobedient for using swear words don't understand children. They are repeating behavior they have observed in their parents, their community, or in media they've been permitted to watch. Giving a kid a violent physical punishment because they did something the have SEEN you do is just going to make them disrespect you forever.

I will never forget the moment I watched my dad grabbing my brother and hitting him because he was sweeping in a half hearted way when we'd been told to clean the kitchen after dinner. My dad NEVER cleaned, but my mom did. I remember watching my dad flip out on my brother for failing at a chore my dad refused to do at all and realizing "oh, he's a terrible parent and has no idea how to do this."
