Everything in the original post is great advice. Studying for and taking the SAT the summer before junior year was esp helpful. Relieved some of the kid’s stress and was automatic prep for the PSAT.

OP I did everything, exactly as you suggested, right down to the SAT study summer before Jr yr.

Both my DS and DD are in top 5 colleges (their first year).
