We knew this was a risk and booked because it's when our kids can ski with us unless we wait until late March which is a risk too. ... We are still excited to get out of dodge but would love ideas for non-ski stuff in case there's really nothing to ski.

Great idea. I'm sure the rental market for expensive accommodations a week from now, over Christmas break, at a ski resort where there is no snow will be particularly robust.
