Yes, because alumni at other institutions don't love their schools and don't have connections with other alumni that have graduated from those schools? I mean how is this even measurable? It's anecdotal.

I find it funny that someone isn't acknowledging the Notre Dame alumni network.

It's even funnier someone thinks this is unique only to Notre Dame.

I don't think anyone said that. What's unique is the subculture of that network, and I think that is what was being conveyed. Not that it is the only strong alumni network.

Of course it’s anecdotal. I’ve lived all over the country…something like 13 states and every region except the plains. You’ll know a notre dame grad went there within 15 minutes of meeting them. Thats not true for places like northwestern, bc, or even the ivies. But it can be true for West Point and navy. Yes, it’s different than other schools.

I assume you are over 50 years of age? There are a lot of great schools that have strong alumni networks especially in certain fields like Tech where I never hear ND.

Yes, and I’m not an alum. When I was younger the nd thing annoyed me, but the older I get the more I realize how impressive of a tight knit community it is. It’s the one school where if my kid got in I’d find a way to pay for it. Not Villanova, not bc, not Georgetown.

Tech may have a great network in certain fields like engineering in the mid Atlantic area. Other schools have very strong regional networks, but nothing tight knit on the national level like nd. Annapolis and West Point are the only ones that come close imo.
