You simply donate to a thrift store or regift. How can you be annoyed at someone who is clearly making the gesture out of being a good host? It's fine if it's your mother in law who does it and you know she knows exactly what your hand size is, but IMO you do not get to be annoyed at gifts from people you barely know who are simply making a well intended gesture.
