They don’t just automatically remove kids, don’t be alarmist. They may get a home visit and see they don’t have working detectors, make them install them, and then close the case.

CPS is NOT making a home visit for this. You are wasting their time when they could be helping kids who actually need it.

You are batshIt crazy OP

They are a light sleeper, so it would be fine. I challenged them, assuming they were joking, but no, they were dead serious. I tried explaining but it fell on deaf ears.

I don’t want to mess up this person’s life, or the kids, I just wish they’d be forced to install working detectors. Would I be wasting my time? What would you do?

Absolutely I would contact CPS and also the non emergency police number. This is a big deal.

It’s wild how many total idiot so-called parents think it’s okay to have their minor vulnerable children living and sleeping in a residence without working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, gadgets which cost $20 and SAVE LIVES.

Some of you breeders are the stupidest, most selfish people alive. Typing your judgements on your $2000 smartphone and think it’s okay not to do the very basic things to protect the lives of your crotch droppings. You are SICK in the head!

The author of that piece must have been paid by word, it was ridiculously overwrought and long.

Not CPS but in have done so with the fire department. They came out to the block and did fire alarm checks for everyone. The FD was great to work with.

If you’re not a mandated reporter, then go that route.

I can't believe OP would even consider this. And of course, her friend would know exactly who sent CPS to her house since they discussed this issue. Insane.

Most fire departments will do this for people.

No. There are children being physically tortured by their parents and you think this is worthy of causing massive stress to a family. Why don't you offer to buy some and install them? Otherwise let it go.

It IS the answer in many situations but not this one.
