Lots of human trafficking going on, and lots of sketch looking people. Ironically, the only woman I ever knew who’d set foot in there was a sorta trashy and maga, and she raved about what a nice mall it was, until some kids robbed her for her phone as she was loading groceries from Costco into her car. So I thought it was amusing that she got robbed. She is a low-key racist maga, so I thought it was poetic justice she got mugged by the people she wants deported. I laughed when I heard what happened. Serves her right.

Wasn't that 9 years ago? There was a shooting at Montgomery Mall around that time too.

Huh. We go too this mall all the time for Costco, DSG, etc and it feels like a normal MC/UMC mall in all respects. Have not felt unsafe so far in 20+ trips.
I've been going there for 15 years, and the only time I felt unsafe was the first couple of times, because the mall was too deserted back then. In the past ten+ years it been fine, because there are usually a lot of people shopping. Now there are only two malls in Montgomery county and not much retail on the east side of the county, so this mall is pretty popular.

It actually has more stores that I shop as often lCostco, Five Below, and Children's Place. I also shop at Macy's and JC Penney sometimes. The food court is fine and there are also a couple of other decent restaurants like Nandos next to Costco and a good hibachi place (not in the mall but in the strip mall behind the Costco garage). There are also some aspects I don't like - the Happy Bounce place is disorganized and just not nice, the cell phone repair places are kind of shady, and I'm sad the Stride Rite closed.
They did? During the pandemic, they were willing to bring shoes outside to the lot if you knew your kid's size and brand you wanted.
Wow, that's so nice. Yes, they closed a while ago, maybe in 2023 or 2024.
