I was also about to leave, and followed the offender's car through the lot to get a picture of her license plate in case she never returns to the gym.
Of course, I'll share it with the victim, who I'll probably see in passing within the next week.
Accidents happen, bad days happen, but not doing the right thing is straight up shitty human behavior.
The woman was probably a mom - in case you're on this site... you're a bad human. And probably a terrible example to your kids.
Hit and run and you should report to police as well as leave a note on the car and describe car and tag number (if you were able to see it) and your name and contact number.

OP-it sucks, but people do hit and run accidents where they leave the person for dead. Running away after doing major property damage is awful, but people can be so much worse.
The story of 17 year old Esai Lopez still haunts me a decade later. Brian Schwartz of Columbia Maryland went to a happy hour with his work buddies where a lot of alcohol was consumed, and ran over Esai Lopez with his BMW and didn't stop, leaving the high school kid dead in the road.
Schwartz may have been drunk, but he left that teenager as if he were roadkill and spent only a week in jail.

I don’t know, but there sure seem to be a lot of them.
We end up with a minor ding or dent (clearly someone backed in to us) on one of our vehicles about once every 1-2 years. Never is a note left.
