Kid stats: 1560, MV/DE, LA, CMech, CE&M, Chem, Lang, and Bio. All 4s and 5s. Will be looking at biochem, math, or physics. ECs are creative writing and DnD but no leadership roles.
Check scattergrams and application history on Naviance. Also, have your kid ask their counselor.
My kids' MCPS high school saw a large drop in UMD admits over the past several years. Last school year (2025), UMD had a ~25% admit rate. In 2024, it was ~35%. But in 2023, admit rate to UMD from same HS was ~60%!

Regular decision Nova school.
It's a crapshoot. Last year my Nova kid with 1510/4.1 and 11 APs got spring admission when applying EA.

The school is on 100 point scale and pretty much anyone with gpa lower than 95 weighted does not get in, regardless of SAT. Over 97 and it’s a target or even low target.
But suspect this formula is different for different schools.
GPA is 4.67 weighted.
gpa is low for Churchill. so even if sat is high this can be between target and reach.
It really depends on the number of applicants from Churchill and how they compare.
