Wake up OP.
Yep.
I remember stuffing the sleeping bags to make it look like we were in them lol
And I never did this, yet still had loads of sleepovers. We had a lot of silly fun. The one time we got in trouble was leaving the house at 11pm. Where did we go? To the grocery store to buy ingredients for brownie making.
NP and same.
For all the cries of "but it's not ye olden days" - you're right, it's not. Fewer teens are drinking alcohol and having sex than back in our day. Cannabis is a different issue, but that also doesn't mean that every kid who wants a sleepover is planning nefarious activities. Sometimes they just want to be with their friends and have fun.
Wild child from the 90s here. My kids are not wild and all of this is true. We still don’t allow sleepovers because now we are boring and like sleep, even if they aren’t going to do anything. They had plenty of these types in middle school. But they don’t need to be doing them in HS now, with either themselves or friends driving. They will be in college soon enough and can hang out all night innocently giggling or doing other stuff.
But yes, I would be fine if my younger DD in HS sleeps over at your house any 1 night this weekend except Wed night. NOT my 17 yo now, who has a car. Curfew still applies unless I know you really well. This kid hasn’t asked for a sleepover since middle school.
