True, but sure.y you can agree that Caroline has had more than her fair share.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I don’t really follow the Kennedy family, so I can’t speak to them. But I have known or heard of people who have experienced an awful lot of loss. I’ve heard stories from some people who grew up in the foster care system, or the recent stories from Gaza; you’d hear about so many sole survivors who had lost their whole families. I remember a mom in Gaza, also a doctor, who lost 8 of 9 children. Or the hundreds of Nigerian school children recently kidnapped; I’m sure there are multiple family members there. There are horrific stories everywhere (I’m including, not competing with the Kennedy stories). It’s really sad.
The Kennedys are a huge family. Take any random group of people that large and you'll find plenty of tragedy.

Having your whole family killed in wars, famines, accidents, etc. happens in developing countries. During the height of the crack epidemic, having your whole family die from overdoses, shootings, and AIDS happened.
But they aren't Kennedys.
Came to say this.
Poverty makes it harder to recover from any one single problem so you are left vulnerable to many others. A friend had the same cancer and died in a few months because she didn’t have the same resources as a wealthy and connected patient. The line about marrying a doctor was so tone deaf.
Wealthy people often are making poor choices that their money can fix. We only notice when they have a run of issues you can throw money at.

Not every President gets assassinated and not every candidate for political office either. Not everyone who makes a bad decision with transportation gets killed. I guarantee you there are people out there driving 100% drunk who get away with it. It's that one time when fate catches up..
I feel that Caroline got the brunt as last of the family standing. It is her bad fortune as it is her entire family who didn't make it. She made it but I'm not sure being the only one was really all that lucky. So sad.
Quite a few of them did get away with bad decisions —See Chappaquiddick. Or Patrick Kennedy. And likely hundreds of other incidents we’ll never hear about.

The curse forces you to fly airplanes?
The PP just explained that. It’s not really a “curse”, it’s bad outcomes from wealth and entitlement that allow risky behavior.

You don't run for president if you don't want thrills and risk because a lot of people will hate you. You don't pilot a private plane in a storm with minimal training if you aren't an overconfident thrill-seeker.
This. Obv poor Tatiana's cancer was random and not a result of her behavior. But a lot of the Kennedy deaths and tragedies are a result of a combo of access to wealth and no risk aversion genes.
-JFK Jr Flying a plane: most of us can't afford that / many of us would not risk that
-Kick Kennedy: flying around Europe during the early days of aviation - most would not have had that opportunity - and her rich partner pressured the pilot to fly despite bad weather - many would have looked at the weather and not gotten on the place or adhered to the pilot's initial warning not to fly
-Rosemary's lobotomy - that was a new procedure and they had VIP access to it
-Joe Jr's war place crash - he did not have to take that suicidal assignment
-THe Kennedy who died on the slopes Playing football on skis - most people can't afford to ski - and the ski patrol probably would have made them stop if they weren't Kennedys - and most people are not only too risk averse to play football on skis but also too risk averse to ski
-All the tragedies befalling the women connected with them - the women were drawn to them partially due to their money and power
-etc
