Are the people posting here teenagers? Bots? You're claiming things for which there is zero evidence.
NP.
Agree, and notice the constant use of infantile insults here?
“toady, mouth-breathing, knuckle-draggers, fake-news, right-wing, POSs, unhinged, brainwashed, white nationalism, cuckoo bananas, maga, small minded,” etc.
Childish insults are hallmarks of a nonexistent argument.
The level of derangement suffered by one or a few in this thread is breathtaking and goes far beyond just their lack of reading comprehension skills.
It’s sad, really.

Yes, absolutely UVA policies violated federal law, including the Civil Rights Act.
This fact cannot be challenged. Ryan resigned due to his desire to continue violating federal law.

People are completely brainwashed by right-wing talking points.
Unbelievable how the Civil Rights Act is being weaponized as a tool for white nationalism.

Spanberger says BOV should pause presidential search, implicitly suggesting the search is not valid because of missing visitors: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/government/politics-elections/2025/11/13/spanberger-calls-uva-pause-president-search
Ryan issues a 12-page letter describing the months leading up to his firing, implying collusion between DOJ and BOV members, and refusal of current rector/vice rector to inform other visitors (including then rector/vice-rector) of DOJ threats: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/26278550-jim-ryan-letter/
It’s really worth reading Ryan’s letter in full; it’s written very clearly and is an easy read, despite being long.
What a disaster for UVA. I’m an alum and am furious. I really hope Spanberger can turn things around and restore the school’s credibility.
I'm *shocked* that Governor Sweater Vest and the dipshit AG Miyares (who got beat by an incompetent political foe, natch) were in cahoots with the most corrupt DOJ in US history. SHOCKED, I tell you.
+1 A lot of the politicians involved are alumni or parents of students. The DOJ lawyers who are UVA Law grads said they wanted to bleed UVA dry? It's not normal to be this intent on destruction. They sound unhinged.
The part of Ryan's letter in which he says he overlapped with one of the DOJ lawyers as a student at the law school was interesting. He doesn't really remember her, but it sounds like she has a personal vendetta against him.
