I have little qualms of training with Israeli police force, which differs from IDF. If the NYPD need militarized training, they can get it from our military.

Is the U.S. military offering training?

Mamdani did an apology tour, but does any reasonable person believe his true feelings have suddenly changed?

There are almost 34,000 NYPD officers in NYC. That’s almost 10,000 more than all of the law enforcement officers in Virginia. Ask yourself, if your boss said that about you, would you look for another job?

Recruiting by the NYPD is up so far in 2025, but it’s just keeping up with retirements. At 34,000 officers the NYPD is still understaffed by 5,000 officers. If a Mamdani Administration accelerates retirements and resignations, while depressing the recruiting rate, public safety will suffer and crime in NYC will rise rapidly.

What do you think NYC will look like at the end of 2026?

Escape from New York with Kurt Russel and Adrienne Barbeau comes to mind.

We shall see.

I think "Come out and play" is more likely.

The mayor can say "no" to particular individuals being on his security detail. He will surround himself with allies.

Mamdani’s security detail will be a leaky bucket. No secrets.

Mamdani pivoted away from defund the police, racists, homophobes, IDF boot on the neck to an “apology” in 2025 to get elected. Why should the NYPD and their union trust him now?

Who cares, he will be their boss in January. They'll get over it just like the rest of us have had to when Trump was re-elected.

Oh yeah, you’re over it. Don’t make me paste 100 threads about Trump in here.

Those 100 threads aren't about the election. They are about all of the stupid and awful shit that Trump did after he got elected.

If Mamdani does stupid and awful shit after he gets elected then post about those. But as for the election, you already had your say and nobody's interested anymore.

Trump rarely, if ever, apologizes for his frequent obnoxiousness. Mamdani apologized and pledged to be a supportive mayor. I'll give him a pass on what he said two years while hoping for the best for him and NYC.

How much will Mamdani pay the members of the Department of Community Safety that spend 8+ hours a day underground, breathing subway air, babysitting mental health patients? How about the staff that responds to mental health episodes without NYPD backup? "We have to pay people what they're worth," he said.

I'm sure city officials and city employees can't wait to work for this idiot now. I actually thought this guy was highly intelligent until seeing this.

Coumo was trumps boy
Take my chances with the guy that’s lord intelligent than all of maga supporters with their Christian nationalism

He's showing himself to be more like Trump than the normal and decent mayor NYC was hoping to return to. I don't live there so it's none of my business what NYC wants in a mayor. If they want Trump style unhinged rhetoric, so be it. To each their own.
