Who are you going to report it to? When is the last time the police responded to anything in a timely fashion? "Hey 911, my neighbor is driving and I assume high!" "OK where's he going?" you just can't call police on drivers, they move too fast.

You don't need a prescription in most areas to buy weed legally

CPS is not your personal grudge strike force. Taking resources away from actual abuse just to harass an innocent man? That’s just evil.

Can you just call CPS on anyone? Don't they need a valid reason to investigate?

You're dumber than a bag of rocks. I can go right now and buy whatever pot I want completely legally. Same as alcohol.

Are you under the impression that every employer has the same policy about this?

Don't leave your car unlocked or things in it, as drug addicts usually do sketchy stuff or have sketchy people frequently coming over.

OP do you know if neighbor isn't using for treatment of an ailment? MYOB. If you do become neighborly one day, you might find out what the situation is.

The poor neighbor is probably treating anxiety from his neighbor spying on him.

You can’t smell the coffee stench next door.

I can smell the lawnmowers, car exhaust and fire pits that every single one of you hypocrites never seem to mention. Hm. I guess only specific smells qualify.

intoxication is the difference

Kind of, and social consequences are a large part of it, but the real reason is that we accept and even encourage caffeine addiction because it's believed to increase productivity. Capitalism is fine with that.

"If you want to understand a society, take a good look at the drugs it uses. And what can this tell you about American culture? Well, look at the drugs we use. Except for pharmaceutical poison, there are essentially only two drugs that Western civilization tolerates: Caffeine from Monday to Friday to energize you enough to make you a productive member of society, and alcohol from Friday to Monday to keep you too stupid to figure out the prison that you are living in." -Bill Hicks

Truth to this. Would be a little unusual to smoke a joint in the morning in my field but a big cup of coffee coupled with some coke or Adderall is par for the course as totally acceptable.

You near DTSS? It’s probably not though- lots of pot use around.

I’m not. I was half heartedly joking. I suspect one of my neighbors is a recent user or has a visitor. 8 or 9 AM they’re lighting up and again in the afternoon and I have smelled it off and on at night as well. It’s a bummer that in the past month I have not been able to have my windows open on these nice days because the smell overwhelms my house.
