1500, 3.85/4.6, 12 AP?
Well two years ago my 1560, 3.98/4.5, 9 AP+2DE kid was denied by 2 ivies and WL at UVA and NEU...
Expected…without more. This is the holistic view and why other posters said you need more than just scores.
I bet UVA would have admitted if ED. This is a common mistake.
Going to UVA is a common mistake as well.
cant emphasize this enough!
For engineering folks pick UVa due to reputation over VT and UMD, North Carolina State University. Very un informed.

Ignorant post. My DS picked UVA aerospace engineering over Purdue and Ga Tech (V tech not even considered). High stat/s kids pick UvA for very good reasons. DS was taught by an astronaut, did brilliantly and went right in to executive management. You did know that engineers who go to UVA engineering tend to enter the engineering field as higher paid managers than grunt workers? Of course you didn’t know that, did you?
DP. You sound insufferable - and have repeated the tale of your son many times before.

NP.
Hopefully for your student a parent interview is not required. Worry about recommendations if your child is like you. You cannot hide that entitled attitude.

Then your answer should have been: “No definitive line.”
And you’re unkind.
Appropriate response to the condescending, know it all post.
