Yes they do. Recently Kash Patel had his government jet fly him to Pennsylvania to watch his country music singer girlfriend perform at Penn State and several hours later fly them both back to Tennessee where she’s from. All on the taxpayer dime. All the vets on this thread think this is OK too?
Could his girlfriend more obviously be a foreign intelligence asset?

They are not in the military!
How dare they do this on taxpayer's dime. Insult to every single veteran of this country you dam traitor.
I am a veteran and I’m fine with them living where they do.
And, btw - it’s spelled “damn.” You appear uneducated when you get such a simple word wrong.

NP obviously. You are a MAGA horse's patriot and as ill educated as you accuse the poster of being, here is the origin of the phrase "I don't give a DAM?"
"Tinker's dam" is a temporary barrier made of mud, clay, or dough used by a tinker to hold molten solder in place while repairing a hole in a metal object. The dam is discarded after the solder has cooled and hardened, making it a single-use item of little value. This origin has led to the phrase "not to give a tinker's dam" which means something is worthless or insignificant.
That’s not even close to the context that the “dam” poster used the word, so what on earth are you going on about? The PP is right, it was misspelled. Maybe you are actually the one who originally misspelled it notwithstanding your NP claim, because “MAGA horse’s patriot” is another bizarre and nonsensical turn of phrase.

Or is the value being deducted from their paychecks?
Why should my tax dollars pay for their housing??
According to the Atlantic article, Hegseth “pays a rent equivalent to a general’s housing allowance plus 5 percent (in this case, totaling $4,655.70 a month)”.
So they actually “pay” rent out of their salaries for the military housing but still use tax dollars for renovations, etc. (“The Army notified Congress in January that it planned to spend more than $137,000 on repairs and upgrades to Hegseth’s McNair home before he moved in” )

New poster here
My veteran husband is sitting next to me now and says he is not insulted by it. Not at all.
