Oh, but OP went to DUKE. As she had to let us all know. She must consider Duke to be superior to Wake in more ways than one.

You have been proven wrong, yet you continue with it.
Go cry into a wine glass about the good old days with coach K and feeling superior while tossing trash in your football stadium.
The moral superiority about homecoming and how great her university is because they were too "progressive" for such things as a homecoming court. She conveniently doesn't mention it is a university that owes it's beginnings to tobacco and cigarette money. Tobacco money from a slave holding family which continued to profit after slavery on an economy built on the legacy of slavery.
But they don't do homecoming court, so there's that.

Are you the genius defending wake by posting that the entire universe is apparently only comprised of straight men and straight women? Stay in your coma I guess and go to wake.
Are you the genius making up a straw man argument totally unrelated to the actual post?

NP here. Who said anything about whether the candidates were straight? How would you even know that?
Also, did you read any of the surrounding story? WF honored the first black homecoming queen (crowned over 50 years ago) and she crowned the current queen (also black) and all parties seemed pretty happy to be involved. The alum sounds accomplished and I would like to know more about her (and her story may not have been told without being selected as Queen).
A quick search also notes that a vast number of schools select a Homecoming Court. Courts are also selected very differently. As usual, reality is nuanced and varied.
Did you look into anything before you posted on a public forum?

OP what rock did you just crawl out from under? Virtually ever southern school that I can think of does this.
And BTW guessing that no one really cares whether or not you, personally, are a “fan.” I could be wrong about that of course.
