Leave aside everything about Sue and simply tell your boss that you had the sniffles but came in briefly to take care of the Penske file. Sue expressed concern that you were in the office and you told her you had to complete a few tasks on Penske and then you'd leave. And you did.

Let the boss handle the rest with Sue being annoying.

+1. And hold the moral high ground and acknowledge to your boss that you would wear a mask in the future if a similar circumstance arises. No sense losing office cred to a person who is probably rubbing a number of people the wrong way.

You're a moron. A sizeable portion of the population is sick at any given time. A sizeable portion is contagious and don't even know it. The "you should wear a mask and use PTO because you have a cold' crowd are imbeciles as well. What if OP is hoarding his PTO to use getting his child cancer treatment? Should he forfeit days with his son at Chemo because some divorced loser is scared she might catch a sneeze?

You people are insufferable. If you are so scared of a simple cold then the onus is on YOU to stay home, not the person with the cold. I run my life for me, sweetie, not for you.

I'd fire that beyotch so fast her head would spin. I'd be tempted to fire her brother as well for bringing in such a POS in the first place.

That logic makes zero sense. The onus is on the SICK person, not the healthy one! You sound very selfish. Haven't you heard of the 'greater good?" You do not live on a deserted island. If you did than we wouldn't care but, many people who are healthy may live with compromised people with weakened immunity. Why are you only thinking of yourself??? Also you are petty just like our DEAR LEADER. If you don't give feedback than how can the person change and improve?

NP, and don't be an idiot. Being sick is not a binary equation, where being sick - any type of sick - means you should stay at home. If you have a fever, yes. If you have a head cold? It's at your discretion. If you can WAH, great, go for it. But if you need to come in, like OP, then OK.

I refuse to believe you, and people like you, are completely devoid of nuance in your real life. So why pretend like you are here?

I believe we all know what sick is and you are being the idiot here pretending that I am suggesting a mild cold means I am saying stay home. But we are only hearing op's side and they could have been sicker than they say. All I am saying is if you are really sick and I am not going to define it for you than you should stay home. The responsibility is not on the healthy person.

You sound a bit unhinged or not smart enough to understand the nuance of what I was saying. But keep on 'refusing to believe' ...

OP literally wrote that they had a small cold. So, youre not only stupid, but also wrong.

If the Op was implicit about it, I'll make it explicit. If I were a director and a part-time temporary started haranguing me about being in the office when I didn't feel well and I was trying to finish a couple things that had to be done so I could get out of there, I'd be pissed. It's not her place. I'm sorry if that is an affront to your egalitarian senses, but it's true. Not everyone is equal in the workplace, and the pity hire who scans documents for 15 hours a week has no business interfering with long-time, high level employees who do the actual work.

Amen.

+1. Don't kick down.
