We went to Balduccis first and I went to eyeball the beef and prices.
Was a little put off by the food smell in Organic Butcher. I guess it's garlicky sausage or something.
I guess their core clientele know what they want, not browsers. We got a strip steak. Will see if it's better.
I noticed the boneless rib eye looked better trimmed at Balduccis and was $38 a pound, not $46 as at Organic but maybe it tastes better ?

You really can’t compare to Balduccis…Balduccis is just Safeway with prices marked up. The quality of meat is no better than what you get at your local Safeway.

Yes the number of people who don’t know that Baluccis is a Safeway brand is remarkable. That’s not a cute mom and pop high end store the way they’d have you believe.

They carry brands and sources Safeway does not eg Berkshire pork. You been seeing bone in rib roast at your Safeway, hon?

Which butchers allow you to do this?! I don’t want random people not wearing gloves handling my meat.

This is wrapped with price on it. They take it to cash register like they expect you to stuff it in your underwear and run out. Typical of the whole self congratulatory vibe.

Why would you expect that? It’s an organic gourmet meat butcher. Their seafood is good too

Of course, but that’s the “Amazon effect” on Whole Foods. I’d never expect lower costs at a local butcher.
