The only people bothered by this are jealous. Ours are hanging in our home office. But DCUM snobs wouldn’t be jealous of our schools so I guess it’s ok. /s

Displaying diplomas in your office is de rigeur for lawyers and doctors. Shrug. Depends on the profession.

Maybe impressed that they got their act together to frame the diploma.

Where is mine? I think it’s in a tube in the basement in a storage bin.

When I was in Biglaw the majority of the lawyers had their diplomas on the wall of their offices and I did too. In retrospect it was silly and unnecessary because no one ever met with clients or potential clients in their offices and the only people I ever had in mine were colleagues and candidates for associate or summer associate positions.

My feeling is that they are proud of the accomplishment. Good for them. Hanging diplomas in the living room would seem a bit odd, but it would signal to me that it’s important to them.

My law school diploma is hanging in my office because everyone else at my job has theirs. And I’m proud of it, and it looks fancy. 😄

In a professional setting, it is very appropriate and desired. Easy to see the proof of education and training. I have mine in my home office.

(FWIW I attended a T20 undergrad and a ‘good’ grad school, but I don’t know where my diplomas are and would not dream of mounting them on a wall. I did not attend any commencement ceremonies and paid my way through everything.)

It’s fine. People should be proud of getting educated.

My diploma is still in the sturdy cardboard sleeve it came in. I think it’s on top of the china cabinet in the dining room of our primary residence.
