Claremont McKenna
Only in the sense that one is on the move up and one is on the move down…
Both have a cultural emphasis on pre professionalism and economics, both are known for outdoorsy communities, and they attract a similar student.
And one is moving up fast, and one is moving down fast; therein lies a big difference.
If you're talking about USNews, didn't Middlebury go from 19 to 13 this year?
Sounds like you need to avail yourself of actual news about Midd, not which 8 schools are tied for the #13-20 ranking this year by a now-defunct print magazine.
I know a lot more about Middlebury than you do. I actually went there and was just on campus.
I am sure they can appreciate your help! And I only hope your help does not hurt them, as it is doing on this thread.
Someone is asking for real-world information about Middlebury College. Who better to provide that than someone who actually went there? And for the record, I've posted three times on this thread. Once yesterday at 17:39, and today at 14:08 and this post.

Is this OP responding with the name of the school, or another poster adding a suggestion?
This is OP. I don't know who interjected JHU. That wasn't me - that's not the school I'm asking about. The school at issue is Middlebury.
Midd does not have a reputation for rigor. Don’t worry about it! But apply ED; that’s a must.
Ugh. What does this statement even mean? It’s not Swat, CMU, MIT, etc? The generally strong students who go there don’t have to work hard? How about when compared to the 2500+ other colleges and universities in the country? You people need a serious reality check.
