Take her phone away, and it sounds like both you and she need some hobbies besides eating out and shopping.

You should humble her.
Scale back on all those rich lifestyle activities.

Kindly and gently tell her that she is the joke and they’re probably all laughing at her on a side group chat.

My dd just turned 12 and has two friends that brag non-stop. It's horrible. I think they have low self-esteem.

My 6th grader is on group text chain (she’s the only one on an iPad) that is 70% inane bragging. She thinks the other girls who do it A LOT are rude — she’s not perfect by any means, however, and occasionally does it herself, and if/when I notice it, I will discuss it with her.

Also, when I first saw this behavior (from her and her friends) few years ago in face to face encounters, we talked about how it’s rude and not kind.

I think it’s more prevalent because of social media, but kids bragging about stupid stuff for social cachet is a tale as old as time.

+1. TikTok influence seems both clear and harmful.

Stop teaching her about these things. She’s 11. She learned somewhere.

Panera Bread has gotten quite fancy in the past few years.
