I don’t think so. I don’t really care where UVA is ranked and my kid chose to go to a different school. I do find the UVA posters on here to be more annoying than others and I have met a few people who actually behave like that in real life
A sumary rejection would cause my kid to go to a different school too but thankfully we did not have one of those in my family unlike yours

This is my hunch as well I think. I’m from NC and UNC didn’t appeal to my high achiever. I view UVA the same, fantastic public but won’t appeal to everyone. I think it gets heat as many on here really pump it up to the extreme.
100 percent.
A handful of schools have alumni like this. Other schools like this are Michigan and Penn State.

This is my hunch as well I think. I’m from NC and UNC didn’t appeal to my high achiever. I view UVA the same, fantastic public but won’t appeal to everyone. I think it gets heat as many on here really pump it up to the extreme.
