My face. It says exactly what I'm thinking, whether I want it to or not. A friend had to point this out to me.

I will never have an uncluttered house. We're 4 people in 1200 sq ft and a basement. Very little closet space. I would love a larger house but my husband has hoarding tendencies and I'm afraid he's just going to accumulate more stuff.

My house will never look like some of my friends' houses that are just... empty. Like staged photos of homes for sale. Where is their stuff???

It's in storage.

That reminds me… I have laundry in the dryer.

I have to accept I will never be a morning person. I get up at 6:15 five days a week for work. But if I have the opportunity to sleep in, I will. I will never get up early voluntarily. I've tried to change and it never works. I'm a night owl and just have to deal.

I am always winging it and cooking based on what I have hanging it around. Oh I have frozen chicken, let me take that out of the freezer and figure something out. Oh I bought rolls at the store, what can I do with these? Let's see...I have frozen meatballs. Meatballs subs it is. Every day this is me.

I can't do this either. I'm pretty good at winging it and it never stresses me out. So I guess I don't aspire to meal planning? It just objectively seems like it would be a good idea. I feel like I save more money doing it my way, weird as that sounds.

How is this difficult? Are you also the people who cannot figure out which is the inner and outer loop of the Beltway?

That’s me hi! I’m Mom of 3. Ivy degree. My brain is just like this. Luckily it also enables me to get highly specialized technical jobs that are wfh and pay very well. And so luckily I can afford weekly cleaners and laundry service for about $200 a week. The key is recognizing your weaknesses and setting up systems to account for them. I will however always have an unmatched sock basket I only sort through when necessary. My friend was shocked I had this. I had no idea there were people who don’t have one! Different strokes.

Your cleaners AND a laundry service are only $200 a week?!

I agree with this. I see those videos with all the contouring and other colors used all over the face and then blended and I just don't understand. I'm 46 so I doubt at this point I'm going to try. I have a good powder foundation that works and I'm good.

I went to someone and she just taught me and I go 2x a year for an update but I basically do the same thing daily but change it every 6 months.

I’m extremely and almost overly competent at most things.., cooking, engineering, finance, budget, raising kids, working out, planning parties (I’ll do a party for 50 without a problem - minus decorations), paint, fix things in the house, computers, audio video, etc

But I can’t get laundry put away, decorate a house or decorate a party, put together an outfit that I love (I can do boring capsule stuff).

Laundry - you just have to do it. I don’t let mine pile up when it’s clean. It bugs me. I can’t live out of a pile either.

I have 1290 unread text messages though LOL.

I'm a mess in some areas, but my inboxes (work, personal, family, and two volunteer orgs that I head) are reviewed, emptied and sorted daily. I hate having any inbox or text notification.

At a certain point the numbers become so large they no longer register!

Unfortunately, this one is fairly common. I know I don't need to say this, but it would be a good idea to have him sit down and go through it all with you.

I can't get a handle on many of the things on this thread -- car stuff, cooking, digital music, etc. -- but had to learn the financial stuff the hard way.
