If you find out your kid is lying, and it sounds like that is very likely, you need to punish them severely, beyond anything you have ever done.

I’m the teacher who said you are only hearing one side of the story. But now you provided more details and this is not okay. Contact a principal.

You didn’t give details at first and a hectic afternoon at home could just be them talking about how they are busy in the evenings and relating to kids. Students talk about they are stressed. Teachers talk about how they have second jobs, are busy with their kids, etc.

What you are describing is unprofessional and needs to be reported.
