Mine are private. I set it up that way when I opened my Venmo account years ago. Never considered anything else.

This. FTR my in laws gave been scammed so many times. They don't have Venmo or social media-- just phones and email. But damn to they like to click links.

Also so strange that married couples split expenses like meals - a coworker with a public profile sent money to wife for sushi and other transactions that looked like meals.

Anyone who’s had kids would not think twice about this, especially girls. DD had lice at least 3 times. I don’t think DS ever got it.

As for my husband, he has a business and sometimes transfers money to our joint account with Venmo or Zelle. I have no idea why he doesn’t just use a normal bank transfer. He says it’s easier to use one of those apps. I think his transactions are private. I don’t care if his settings are messed up and people think we are an odd couple transferring money to each other.

If you know anyone who divorced, you would understand why having your own separated money is so important. Especially as a woman. So very very dumb not to.

Bat mitzvah is a weird addition to that list.

Some people are pathetically online. I always make my Venmo transactions private but once I purposefully made one public to see if someone would notice. They did so immediately and texted someone about it. I have social media but don't post and only use it for the groups we are part of that use it, so I find it weird when people are so obsessed with what is happening there.
