But not children.

Vaccinate your kids and stop trying to control what others do. I don't want the Republicans to control my health and body, so I won't attempt to control theirs.
I’m not quite in this camp but close to it. I don’t want my kids to go to school with unvaccinated children or share a doctor’s office with unvaccinated children (who are clearly eligible). On the other hand, if that’s really what they want, go forth and let’s see how it goes. I’m not their mom.
He added that the administration would be “working to end” all vaccine mandates. “Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,” Dr. Ladapo said.

That's not how herd immunity works.
Yes, I had a friend in elementary school who wasn't vaccinated because she had leukemia and couldn't receive vaccines until she was finished with chemo. She got caught up on all vaccines after she was done.
Florida (which is where we grew up) would make kids like her a sitting duck.
Anonymous wrote:Yes. And cruel. How will this impact families using insurance to cover the cost of immunizations? Will they still be covered — even through Medicaid?

I really feel for all the innocent kids whose parents are stupid who will die of polio and measles, and particularly for the medically fragile who are unable to get vaccinated.

Florida plans to become the first state to end all vaccine mandates, including for schoolchildren, rejecting a practice that public health experts have credited for decades with limiting the spread of infectious diseases.
Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo, the Florida surgeon general, made the announcement on Wednesday alongside Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican. Mr. DeSantis rose to national prominence during the coronavirus pandemic, and over time he has espoused increasingly anti-vaccine views.
“Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body?” Dr. Ladapo, a vocal denigrator of vaccines, said to applause during an event on Wednesday in Valrico, Fla., near Tampa. “Your body is a gift from God.”
He added that the administration would be “working to end” all vaccine mandates. “Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,” Dr. Ladapo said.
Florida Says It Plans to End All Vaccine Mandates
The state would be the first to scrap requirements that children be vaccinated to attend school, among other rules.
Dr. Ladapo should lose his medical license. "Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body?" Sir you are literally a doctor. Are you going to tell your patients to drink bleach?
+1
So should Bill Cassidy, the Senator/Doctor who voted to confirm RFK Jr, despite his clear misgivings which have come to pass in a way far worse than most of us envisioned.
Not fond of Cassidy but three other GOP Senators are doctors - Barbados, Marshall, and Paul - and voted for the lunatic as well. Cassidy was merely the only one who publicly toyed with possibly voting no.
Marshall just came out today and said he regrets his vote.
The one for the just-fired CDC Director, not the one for RFK Jr.
We are all so f___ed.
