Why would you think she was being sarcastic? Fact is: glutamate is a key excitatory neurotransmitter. Look it up.

No, this has been extensively studied. People don't react in double-blind tests any more often to MSGs than placebo.

There’s more MSG in a can of Campbell’s soup than a plate of orange chicken. Yet, all these people who constantly gorge on canned soup and ketchup loaded with MSG suddenly develop this massive medical issue when they eat a small amount of MSG in Asian restaurants.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Declaring that you have an MSG allergy is the equivalent of admitting your racism is so ingrained that even the foods you eat daily will make you sick if it’s branded as “foreign.”
