No one I know has cheated, but I'm in a circle of middle class and middle-aged nerdy and calm intellectuals with jobs in scientific research and the like. I know it happens, and maybe some people are very successful at keeping it quiet... but to be honest, I don't think it's very frequent with those profiles.
It may be that you are attracted to the same sort of man every time.
All of the cheaters I have known in my life were "nerdy and calm intellectuals."
Everyone has a mask, but some people have a mask that truly hides what they are.
It is SO easy to cheat right now. You could get on reddit, give your general location and what you are looking for, and find a partner in no time. You could use telegram or whatever app to communicate and your spouse would never know. If you are determined, you could hide it indefinitely. There is no way to know how many people have cheated.

My guess is around half of men cheat at some point. With a lot of the other half who would but don't have an easy option
You say that like any married man who is desirable to women has easy options - but some don't put themselves in the situations where options present themselves. For every guy on a business trip hitting the hotel bar there's another guy who has gone back to his room to watch a movie.
Most guys will not just ask a woman to go up to their room at a hotel because most will say no. These guys are asking for you contact info to chat and get to know you so in a few months if you get to
Meet up again then you’ll go to their room.
I'll be called a liar because... internet... but I'm a handsome, educated, upper middle class, white collar, not fat, not bald, in shape 52 year old married man and I can easily count a half dozen women I've worked with that, were married with kids, 40-55, and absolutely would have slept with me if I pursued them even halfway. Like, it would be so easy. And these women were in 'happy' marriages.

I doubt they were hitting on you. They were probably just talking, since that's what people do at conferences.
No one is going to hit on a post-menopausal woman.
Anonymous wrote:It’s actually not that easy for men to cheat even when they are very good looking and even if they travel frequently for work. It is very easy for women.
