MCPS has all the books listed. Parents interested in opting out aren’t going to actual read the books. They are just going to follow which zealot is the flavor of the day and opt out what they say is problematic for whatever reason.

Love how “liberals” are only liberal when it comes to their ideologies. Everyone else follows zealots apparently. Of course parents aren’t going to read the entire books but if someone who did points out what is in it, then let the parents be the judge of if it’s problematic. Don’t reduce parental concern as blindly following a zealot

Kinda sounds like following zealots. What’s so hard about reading a kids’ book?

The way to judge if it's problematic is to read the book.

Let parents decide what they want to expose their children to.

No this is public school not private school.

There should be no OPT OUT, especially given the so-called parents that sued, where Stephen Miller and his America Legal First sycophants.

They ban books all the time if they stop then OPT Out can stay.

This thread isn’t arguing against people opting out. It’s that the opt out people don’t have the basic ability to read books and figure out what to opt out of.
