Went there for dinner before prom. So fun.

I grew up in DC and miss a ton of things from when it was fun and quirky, but I completely disagree about 2002 being a good time to live in DC. Post 9/11, anthrax scare, snipers, Patriot Act craziness. I know people feel like whatever time they are experiencing is the hardest ever, so maybe you’re forgetting that 2002 was rough.

Yes loved Au Pied de Cochon after bar hopping! Dominque’s - I really miss lobster thermidor and grand mariner soufflé. Haven’t had it since they closed.

I'd wolf down pasta at Ecco in Old Town - god, the fettucine was delicious.
Austin Grill for throwing back margaritas. Guapos too.
Not to mention the delicious, sumptuous takeaway Italian at Listrani's or La Piazza Old Town.

Generous George’s was awful!

NP. My first job was at Generous George’s. Those serving sizes were scandalous. Like a pound of served on top of a thick pizza crust “plate”. And it wasn’t family style.

Bombay Curry! They had a chicken and lentil dish I ordered so many times that once they took me into the kitchen and showed me how to make it! I still make it a few times a year.

I bet we know each other. LOL.

I loved Ecco. Great mussels. Their Key Lime pie was fabulous too.
