I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. My mom had a stroke when she was 55. She recovered and went on to work for 10+ more years. She's retired now and still doing well. Prayers for you.

I need a baseline mammogram. I have put it off for over a year. My mom died recently and it has sent me into a total health anxiety spiral, so I'm dealing by...avoiding it. On the plus side, I drugged myself into getting a colonoscopy, which was fine.
Losing a parent sucks.

My roommate woke up four weeks ago and hasn't really been able to walk since. Her sister and I are now kinda fulltime caregivers. We are not sleeping enough. So many doctors appointments.

I got frustrated and lost it on my summer job new boss. I feel like I am over here trying yo save the world, and I could not handle her B.S. I was a teacher the last few years. Spent time in special ed. Not going back this year. Sigh. Too much trauma.

How convenient that this is all happening just as DH enters a very different level of compensation!

We retired just over a year ago. So worried about what is happening to our country and that our little nest egg will be destroyed along with the entire US economy, and then what? Will we be in our 70s and have to go back to work?

Lost my job due to DOGE cuts. I have found another job, but it is a pay cut, and there are lots of short term debts to repay. Grateful to have found something, though.

Side effects of my cancer treatment. I cannot wait for this to be over. That is all I am thinking about right now. I am not thinking about the state of the world right now. I don't have the bandwidth for it.

1. Dh has just been diagnosed with cancer and will hav surgery. Guess we will see what they find and go from there, hopefully it has stayed contained.

2. US democracy collapsing in front of our eyes. Not much I can do about this one, didn't vote for it. Just trying to spend as little money as possible.

Personally: spouse has a very demanding new job that requires a lot of work and is very emotionally distant and stressed and often in a mood. I am not sure if our marriage will survive.

Macro level: so awful and disappointing about current events in the US. I see the country going downhill fast and I wish I could live abroad for a while, it is like a constant nightmare to read the news and realize how many people don't care about others and just want to power grab and make themselves profit at the expense of everyone else.
