Warrenton is not a small town.


It’s pretty small in the right circles. You can be from small town Warrenton or Warrenton the suburb depending on where you live and who you know (or don’t know).

Lived there for a few years. Had my car broken into three times. Schools are terrible. Food Lion infested with fruit flies. Local politics are crazy. Vibe is odd.


Geez...we have friends with a vacation house down there and they describe it as pretty idyllic.

Did you live right in the heart of downtown there?

God you're dim. Obviously there was nowhere in Virginia in 1932 where it was pleasant to be anything other than white. Or in most of the US for that matter.

Small towns in nearby Loudoun are the same way. Big difference is lack of friendliness. They ask snarkily. They're trying to collect intelligence on you, and will decide later if they want to use it against you or not. Middleburg in particular is like this.
