I like the Mediterranean idea but offering up an alternative. My "go to" is sushi platters (raw, cooked, vegetarian) along with fresh fruit from the farmers market. It just easy and avoids gluten or lactose issues.

Apps can be dinner you just need to make sure there are some hearty ones, with protein and fat. Shrimp. Sliders. Something.

I never heard of Chinese pearl balls but just liked it up and want to try. Is there a good place to get these premade?

I make them. But they serve them at dim sum restaurants, you could ask. I think restaurants call them snow pearl balls. But if you want to make, here’s the recipe: https://www.tfrecipes.com/chinese-pearl-balls-appetizers/
I just make a garlic sesame soy dipping sauce. Nothing fancy.

This again. If you invited someone at 6 and don’t have dinner, you are a bad host. Calling them piggy makes you an extra bad host.

You tell them what to expect. I would not expect dinner unless it was stated dinner. If OP's invitation says "cocktails and apps!", then that's what people will expect. But HEAVY apps, enough to make a dinner.

I would like to see the overlap in posters who think this and posters who say they need a GLP1 because they are doing everything right but can’t lose 10 pounds.

I think I am the only person who is tired of the charcuterie boards. A bunch of deli meats and cheese on a too crowded board.

Charcuterie is deconstructed by definition!!

what's a "girl dinner" and why is it not LT catering?

my question

Shirtless male dancers serving finger foods and appe-teasers on silver platters before the dance off?

Candi, Toni, and Shandra would love this. Emily, Rose, and Jenna would be horrified.

Would make it all the more funny and fun.

If youre hosting at 6pm I think you should have a full meal. Dont be stingy.
