I’m the PP whose kid is doing ED1 to Dartmouth and ED2 to Bowdoin. Kid thinks they will apply ED2 even if deferred ED1. Kid loves Dartmouth but Bowdoin is a close second.
Bowdoin has slashed its ED acceptance rate in the past few years. Used to be 37%, now under 15%. The focus there is on recruited athletes and other institutional priorities. It is a risk, unless your DC is fully prepared to put in a number of RD apps as well.
