What makes you so sure she wasn’t testing the waters? I’m not trolling. We went away for the weekend with the LAST couple we’d ever peg (no pun intended) as being into that lifestyle and on the second night after kids were asleep, drinking wine by the fire pit, the wife suggested she and I “swap beds” for the night. Would have been way less awkward if she’d led with a “my husband is so hot” (spoiler alert, he is not).

I think what some of you need to realize is these are dads likely in their 40s or 50s. Or older. You, middle age lady, might think your husband is hot. It's pretty few and far between that any normal teen girl who is well adjusted is checking out 45-50+ year old dads. If they are doing so, seriously you should be concerned.

Totally. Me and the dads at the pool check out the teen girls at the pool and comment who is hot. It's funny.

One is cringe and one is pedo. Know the line.

I did this in my 20s when we were all dating. But when it's a guy someone married and we're all friends and we're going to be hanging around together on the regular going forward? Skip it. So I'm going to do them the courtesy of not doing it to them either.


Sounds like you need to lighten up. My best friend's husband lost a ton of weight and got in really good shape, now she talks about how much hotter he is, and I agree with her! He looks great. You can say these things in a friendly way that's not drooling over them in a bathing suit.

There's no good response to this. I can't even think of anything. I guess I'd probably just smile and nod.

I think it's a way for her to brag. She's probably the type who will never admit to having normal couple problems. And if they do, they just have hot sex and the problem is solved!

PP. Oh to me the "cute" is the faintest hint of praise that they are fishing for.

But it's not cute and I dont feel that its cute. The people who do this are always trying to one up. I prefer "that's good you think so". I have zero feelings about it other than that it's annoying.
