I (mom) travel with my adult son at least once a year. We both prefer a suite with a bedroom plus a living room with pull out couch but there are years where we share a room with 2 queen beds. This is to expensive ski resorts where 2 rooms would be cost prohibitive.

We started two rooms when DS and DD were around 13 and 10. 2 queens dont work well for us because DH is super tall. And most “suites” aren’t actual separate bedrooms; it’s just a bed area and a sitting area. Unless you go for the 2-3 bedroom suites that hotels may have, but those tend to be very limited in number and far more expensive than 2 rooms, even two nicer rooms.

Although I’ve also found it more miss than hit trying to book adjoining rooms, esp outside of a large, American chains.
