Did you visit Wake, too? Similar to what you describe at Vandy or more of a make-up/do your hair/OOTD vibe?
We visited Wake on a random Monday and noticed that the kids seemed more polished and put together than at the other schools we've seen. No dresses or dress shirts or anything like that. But far less of a "rolled out of bed" look than elsewhere.
DD loved it, but I'm wondering whether it's a sign of excessive pressure on the kids (women, especially) to be "effortlessly perfect" re their appearance, in addition to academics.
