Did you visit Wake, too? Similar to what you describe at Vandy or more of a make-up/do your hair/OOTD vibe?

We visited Wake on a random Monday and noticed that the kids seemed more polished and put together than at the other schools we've seen. No dresses or dress shirts or anything like that. But far less of a "rolled out of bed" look than elsewhere.

DD loved it, but I'm wondering whether it's a sign of excessive pressure on the kids (women, especially) to be "effortlessly perfect" re their appearance, in addition to academics.

Same. Young women dress up for many events, holidays(Halloween) games, club night, formals. guys too, At all schools, SEC to WM to ivies

My DD dressed that way w cowboy boots for Coachella. It’s a look.

+1. Seems like a new low even for DCUM, given that these are actual people doing nothing wrong.

Hardly a low and it's a post about outfits.

Also, if you are describing the source of your jewelry and shoes on camera, you pretty much can expect it will be posted on the internet. Where there is never 100% agreement.
