You can send your imaging to Hopkins for a second opinion. At Hopkins anyone who reads a radiology film will have completed a fellowship in that specialty. For that reason I prefer to get all my imaging there.

For mammograms I like the Shady Grove Breast Center as well as their White Oak center too. Make sure you ask for the right kind of mammogram, ultra sound etc for you.

FWIW I really like the White Oak location. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

I had a very good experience with Community Radiology Associates (Bethesda) last week taking my son in for an MRI. I was able to get an appointment within a few days, got the price right away for self-pay, got the CD as we left, and CRA sent results to doctor next day.

Staff was very efficient and friendly, and put my son at ease during MRI and administration of contrast. It was challenging to find a pediatric MRI location so glad I drove a bit for CRA

How is that possible? I have lost about 25lbs but breast size really hasn’t changed and I don’t think that would impact density. So it makes me question the quality of their review and I’m going to ask my dr for a do-over. Any good recs in the Moco area?

i had this happen, too. had mammo at WRA, the results noted dense breasts.
talking with my gyno shortly after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, she recommended that I get a followup ultrasound for reassurance (rather than an MRI, which is what I had inquired about). Radiologist Doc comes in, says "i did your mammogram, you don't have dense breasts, who told you that you have dense breasts?"

um... you? my report clearly states "heterogeneously dense breasts".

she humphed and said it must have been left in as a finding from before I went through menopause. Can't say that I actually felt any reassurance after that ultrasound...

Hm mine said "The breasts are heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses."
And I don't believe I have dense breasts. Is this some sort of BS CYA language?
